“Reducing food waste across the EU: stakeholder collaboration to achieve a transparent and sustainable food supply chain”
FUSIONS (Food Use for Social Innovation by Optimising Waste Prevention Strategies) is a project about working towards a more resource efficient Europe by significantly reducing food waste. The project runs for 4 years, from August 2012 to July 2016 and is funded by the European Commission Framework Programme 7.
Within FUSIONS, several regional platform meetings have been organised within the 4 European Regions (Scandinavia, North-West Europe, Central-East Europe, and Southern Europe). This Amsterdam-based RPM will have a special focus on the retail sector as well as on entrepreneurial and socially innovative projects.
Regional meeting facilitate networking amongst stakeholders, discuss FUSIONS topics through consultation sessions as a means of helping the project progress, and obtain insight into more innovative ideas to fight food waste within the region and the EU at large. This meeting is free of charge and open to any non-members who want to find out more about FUSIONS.
ChicP attended the event in Amsterdam to network and explore the opportunities and ideas that are being developed around food waste in Europe.
