Our Commitment to Justice, Equity,Diversity & Inclusion

At ChicP, we believe that a better food system starts with better business. That means making food that’s good for people and the planet — and building a company where every person feels they belong, is treated fairly, and has the opportunity to thrive.

This is our public commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). It applies to everything we do — how we work as a team, how we engage with our customers, and how we show up in our community.

Within our team

We are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the world around us. We hire inclusively, pay fairly, and work to create an environment where everyone — regardless of their background, identity, or circumstance — feels safe, valued, and heard. We will regularly review our policies and practices through an equity lens and act on what we find.

With our customers

We make food that is honest, accessible, and good for people. We communicate with our customers truthfully and respectfully, and we are committed to ensuring that our products and our marketing are inclusive — never exploitative, never exclusionary

In our community

We recognise that the food industry has not always been equitable — in who it employs, who it serves, or who it buys from. We are committed to using our purchasing power and our platform to support underrepresented suppliers, create opportunity for people who face barriers to work, and contribute to a more just food system.

Our commitment going forward

We know that commitment without action means nothing. That’s why we have a JEDI action plan with specific, measurable steps across Years 0, 3, and 5 of our B Corp journey. We will report publicly on our progress each year and hold ourselves accountable to the people who work with us, buy from us, and live alongside us.

Accountability

Accountability for this commitment sits with Hannah McCollum, CEO and highest governing body of ChicP. Hannah is personally responsible for ensuring ChicP’s JEDI actions are chosen, implemented, reviewed annually, and reported on publicly. Any member of the ChicP team can raise JEDI-related concerns or ideas directly with Hannah at any time.

This statement is approved by and on behalf of ChicP’s highest governing body.
